Meet Dr. Gilpin

  

Tara Ann Gilpin, D.D.S.

Dr. Tara Gilpin has been a New Orleans resident for eight years. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and was raised in Manalapan, New Jersey. Dr. Gilpin treats patients with compassion and seeks to understand their overall wellness which may be linked to their dental health. She addresses patient’s concerns and strives to provide a gentle and comfortable experience.

Education:

Dr. Gilpin earned a B.S. from James Madison University in Virginia in 1997, and graduated from Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in 2008.

Additional experience:

Following graduation, Dr. Gilpin completed a General Practice Residency at LSU Interim Hospital in downtown New Orleans where she focused on the treatment of dental trauma and medically compromised patients who could not be safely treated in private practice. She is trained in Oral Surgery, Emergency Medicine, and Anesthesiology. Dr. Gilpin is experienced in treating patients with debilitating conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and those suffering from immune-compromised diseases such as HIV. She is trained to care for special needs patients with cognitive or motor impairment. Additionally, she is also certified to administer conscious moderate sedation.

Participation in organized dentistry:

Dr. Gilpin is a member of the New Orleans Dental Association, Louisiana Dental Association, ADA, and Academy of General Dentistry. She is also a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society.
